The Search for Miss DIY: TV’s Handsome Handyman, Jake Tyson, is Looking for an Apprentice
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jake Tyson, TV’s Handsome Handyman and founder of Redback Tools, has announced the Search for Miss DIY 2009 on The Job Shack, an online DIY Community offering Home Improvement tips, tricks and project ideas (http://thejobshack.redbacktools.com). The Search for Miss DIY is a nationwide call to help find Jake’s apprentice as he grows his tool business, Redback Tools, in the United States. Miss DIY will help Jake provide his fans with handy Do-It-Yourself tips online and develop her own skills as a DIY expert under his tutelage. Miss DIY will also win round-trip airfare to Jake’s hometown of Sydney, Australia, where she will receive five nights of accommodation and a tour of the city with none other than the Handsome Handyman as her guide. In addition, Miss DIY will join Jake on select TV and retail appearances in both Australia and the United States. As Jake’s apprentice, Miss DIY will be a regular contributor to the Job Shack and will host a featured blog on the social networking site. She will also be given the opportunity to show off her on-air hosting skills with her brand new video blogging set, valued at $1,000. It’s the opportunity of a lifetime for any girl looking to become a star in the world of DIY!
To enter the search, a contestant must first create a profile on The Job Shack, complete with a photo of herself, and answer all questions required for Miss DIY. Next she will upload a video to the video section of The Job Shack demonstrating why she is the perfect Miss DIY. After joining the group “Miss DIY”, contestants must tag their videos “IAMMISSDIY!”, copy the embed code to the video and post it in the search for Miss DIY group.
Contestants will be judged on everything from creativity, charisma, character, and most importantly, DIY skills. All entries must be received by July 7, 2009 at 10:00 AM PACIFIC. The contest officially ends on July 31, 2009 at 8:00 AM. Redback Tools may change the dates and/or terms of the contest without prior notice.
